Medicen Paris Region is the life sciences cluster of the Paris Region and one of the largest in Europe. With over 240 members, Medicen is a unique forum that connects all the key stakeholders across the region that innovate in healthcare: leading research institutes, SMEs (180), incubators, large companies, hospitals and physicians. Since its foundation in 2005, the cluster have accredited 249 R&D projects for a total budget of €948 million.
Medicen is structured around 5 major areas representing the key strengths of the region:
- In vitro diagnostics: biomarkers, companion diagnostics, reagents, laboratory equipment;
- Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging;
- Regenerative Medicine and Biomaterials ;
- ICT for Health ;
- Translational medicine.
The Paris region ecosystem of in vitro diagnostic covers more than 40% of the French companies in the field for a total turnover of €990 M addressing the four major therapeutic fields of oncology, cardio-metabolism, immuno-infectiology, and neuro-degenerative diseases.
With other 24 SMEs, 15 academic bodies and 18 research platforms innovating in in vitro diagnostics, Medicen is unique gateway to access medical devices companies and the French market.
